  3. デスクトップ機の準備

    1. コントロールパネルのネットワークに、"Microsoft:NetBEUI"プロトコルを追加する
    2. Windows.95の入ったCD-ROMドライブを共有する

    これによりターゲットマシン(COMPAQ PROLINEA4/100)から、デスクトップマシンのWindows.95 CD-ROMが共有できるようになります。

  4. インストールフロッピーの作成

    5. OSの起動及びハードディスクのフォーマットをするための起動ディスクとネットワーククライアントのインストールディスクを作成します。

    1. 起動ディスクの作成

      2. "format a: /s"

      普通に起動ディスクを作成します。
      Windows.なら、エクスプローラのファイル-フォーマット-起動専用」メニューで作成します。
      MS-DOSなら、"format a: /s"です。

      "\windows\command\format.com"をフロッピーディスクにコピーします。
      （必要に応じて"\windows\command\fdisk.com"も）

    2. ネットワーククライアントインストール用フロッピーの作成

      3. "mswgcn a:"

      ネットワークドライバ及びネットワークアダプタのドライバをフロッピーディスクに展開します。

  5. ネットワークドライバのインストール

    6. ブートフロッピーでターゲットマシンを起動し、ハードディスクをフォーマットします。
    A:>format c: /s


    ハードディスクから再起動します。
    ネットワークドライバのインストーラを実行します。
    C:>a:setup [ENTER]


    インストーラのタイトルが表示されるので[ENTER]。

    * To get additional information about a Setup screen, press F1.

    * To set up Workgroup Connection now, press ENTER.

    * To quit Setup without installing Workgroup Connection, press F3.

    ドライバのインストール先を聞いてきますので、[ENTER]。
    Setup will place your Workgroup Connection files in the
    following directory.

    If this is where you want these files, press ENTER.

    If you want Setup to place the files in a different
    directory, type the full path of that directory, and
    then press ENTER.

    ネットワークアダプタ一覧の中からドライバを選択します。
    カーソルキーで「NE2000 Compatible」を選択し[ENTER]キーを押します。

    ネットワークのグループ名を入力します。

    メールは不要なのでカーソルキーで"Install Mail"まで移動し[ENTER]

    press ENTER to see alternatives for that option.

    カーソルキーで"Do not install Mail"まで移動し[ENTER]
    Workgroup Connection includes Microsoft Mail, a program that
    enables you to communication with others in your workgroup by
    exchanging electronic messages.

    Setup can Microsoft Mail files to your computer now.
    After Workgroup Connection Setup is complete, you can set up
    Mail by typing MAIL at the MS-DOS command prompt.

    If you want Setup to copy Microsoft Mail files to your
    computer, choose 'Install Mail files.'

    Install Mail files.
    Do not install Mail files.

    NICの設定をするので"Network Card"に移動し[ENTER]。
    If all the options are correct, select 'The listed options

    各項目にカーソルキーで移動し[ENTER]で設定。
    設定したら"The listed option are correct"に移動し[ENTER]。

    correct'. Then press ENTER. If you want to change a setting,
    use UP or DOWN arrow key to setting.

    前画面に戻るので続けて、"Driver configration is correct"で[ENTER]。
    さらに前の画面に戻るので、"The listed optins are correct"で[ENTER]。
    インストールが開始します。

    インストールが終了したらフロッピーディスクを抜き、[ENTER]でコンピュータを再起動します。
    Workgroup Connection is now installed on your computer.

    You must restart your computer before you can use Workgroup
    Connection.

    * To restart your computer, remove all disks from your floppy
    disk drives, and then press ENTER.

    * To quit Setup without restarting your computer, press F3.

  6. ネットワーク接続

    7. ターゲットマシンを起動します。
    するとユーザー名、パスワードを聞かれるので入力します。
    入力終了後、DOSプロンプトから"net[ENTER]"と入力してネットワークに接続します。

    デスクトップマシンのCD-ROMのネットワークパスを入力して共有します。
    「PATH:」に「\\MYPC1\D」と入力します。
    (仮にデスクトップ機の名前を「MYPC1」とする)
    または[TAB]キーで[Browse]にカーソルを移動、選択し一覧からも選べます。

    「Alt+x」キーで共有設定画面を終了します。
    ネットーワークに正常に接続できたかは、"Dir D:"として確認できます。

  7. ネットワークログイン

    8. 上記の方法でウインドウが開かなかったりしてログインできなかった場合は次の方法でログインし、CD-ROMを共有します。
    1. まず"net view"で、ホストとなるデスクトップ機を確認します。
    2. 次に"net view \\mypc1"で、共有されているドライブを確認します。
    3. そして"net use d: \\mypc1\d"で、Dドライブにデスクトップ機のCD-ROMを割り当てます。

    以上の操作でLAN上の共有されたCD-ROMを使用できるようになりました。

  8. Windows.95のインストール

    9. 共有したCD-ROMドライブから、Windows.95をインストールします。
    C:>d:\setup [ENTER]

    後は画面の指示に従ってWindows.95のインストールを進めてください。
    ちなみに"setup.exe"の実行直後、文字化けした文章を表示して一時停止しますが、Windows.95のインストールを続けるかどうかの確認ですので[ENTER]を押してインストールを続けてください。
