CD-ROMの無いノートマシンにWindows.95をインストールしました。

よくまぁ、こんなマシンにWin.95が入ったと、我ながら関心します（笑）

    1. コントロールパネルのネットワークに、"Microsoft:NetBEUI"プロトコルを追加する
    2. Windows.95の入ったCD-ROMドライブを共有する

    これによりターゲットマシン(DynaBook V486E)から、デスクトップマシンのWindows.95 CD-ROMが共有できるようになります。

  4. ブートフロッピーの作成

    5. ブートフロッピーにネットワーククライアント及びネットワークアダプタのドライバをインストールしておくことによって、ブート後すぐにネットワークに繋げられる様になります。

    1. ドライバの用意

      2. "mswgcn.exe","pe3drv.exe"の実行

      ネットワークドライバ及びネットワークアダプタのドライバを、デスクトップマシンのハードディスク上の適当なディレクトリに展開しておきます。
      私の場合は、それぞれ「c:\tmp\mswgcn」「c:\tmp\pe3」に展開しました。

    2. 起動ディスクの作成

      3. "format a: /s"

      普通に起動ディスクを作成します。
      Windows.なら、エクスプローラのファイル-フォーマット-起動専用」メニューで作成します。
      MS-DOSなら、"format a: /s"です。

  5. ネットワークドライバのインストール

    6. 先程作成したブートフロッピーでデスクトップマシンを起動し、ネットワークドライバのインストーラを実行します。
    A:>c:\tmp\mswgcn\setup [ENTER]


    インストーラのタイトルが表示されるので[ENTER]。

    Welcome to Setup for Workgroup Connection.

    Setup prepares Workgroup Connection to run on your computer.

    * To get additional information about a Setup screen, press F1.

    * To set up Workgroup Connection now, press ENTER.

    * To quit Setup without installing Workgroup Connection, press F3.

    [ENTER]

    ドライバのインストール先を聞いてきます。
    フロッピーへのインストールなので、ここも[ENTER]。
    Setup will place your Workgroup Connection files in the
    following directory.

    If this is where you want these files, press ENTER.

    If you want Setup to place the files in a different
    directory, type the full path of that directory, and
    then press ENTER.

    A:\DOS [ENTER]



    ブートフロッピーを挿入する様に言われますが、既に入っているので[ENTER]。

    when ready, press ENTER.

    ディスクスペースが足りないので、[ENTER]キーでメール関連を除いてインストールします。
    Insufficient Disk Space

    There is not enough space on your computer's hard disk to
    install Mail files.

    You can do one of the following:

    1) You can choose a path on another drive by pressing ESC.
    2) You can continue installing Workgroup Connection without
        installing Mail files by pressing ENTER.
    3) You can attempt to install Workgroup Connection with Mail
        files by pressing C. If you choose this option, Setup
        might not succesfully install Workgroup Connection.

    [ENTER]

    ネットワークアダプタ一覧の中からドライバを選択します。
    私が使った"Xercom PE3"は一覧に無いのでカーソルキーで「Network card not shown on list below ...」を選択し[ENTER]キーを押します。
    Select the type of network card that is installed in your
    computer, and then press ENTER.

    ネットワークアダプタのパスを入力して[ENTER]キーを押します。
    Please specify the location (path) of the OEM driver you
    want to use.

    ネットワークアダプタのドライバが見つかったので、それで良ければ[ENTER]で選択します。
    Select the type of network card that is installed in your
    computer, and then press ENTER.

    Xircom PE3 NDIS 2.01 Real Mode

    コンピュータの名前を入力します。
    COMPUTER NAME is the name that identifies which computer
    is yours. Choose a name that is unique in the workgroup.

    A computer name can have up to 15 characters, and can
    contain letters, numbers, and these characters:

    ネットワークのグループ名を入力します。
    COMPUTER NAME is the name that identifies which computer

    インストール情報が表示されます。
    これでOKなので[ENTER]を押します。
    If all the options are correct, select 'The listed options
    are correct,' and then press ENTER. If you want to change
    an option, use the UP or DOWN arrow key to select it. Then
    press ENTER to see alternatives for that option.

    User name : Dyna
    Workgroup name : MyLAN
    Install Mail : Do not install Mail files.
    Redirector : Use the basic redirector.
    Pop-up key : N
    Startup option : Run Workgroup Connection and log on.
    Path : A:\DOS
    Network Card : Xircom PE3 NDIS 2.01 Real Mode
    Protocol Driver : Microsoft NetBEUI

    The listed options are correct.

    インストールが終了したので[F3]キーでインストーラを終了します。
    Workgroup Connection is now installed on your computer.

    You must restart your computer before you can use Workgroup
    Connection.

    * To restart your computer, remove all disks from your floppy
    disk drives, and then press ENTER.

    * To quit Setup without restarting your computer, press F3.

    現在の"AUTOEXEC.BAT"ではネットワークに接続できる状態にするだけなので、起動後すぐにネットワーク上のドライブを共有できるようにします。
    またこのフロッピーにはまだ少し空き領域があるので、ノートマシンにWindows.95をインストールする時に使う予定の"format.com"をコピーしておきます。

    フロッピーを抜いてデスクトップマシンを再起動します。

  6. ネットワーク接続

    7. 作成したブートフロッピーをノートマシンに入れて起動します。
    するとネットワークに接続するか聞かれるので[ENTER]キーを押し、次にネットワーク接続のためのユーザー名、パスワードを入力します。

    デスクトップマシンのCD-ROMのネットワークパスを入力して共有します。
    「PATH:」に「\\MYPC1\D」と入力します。
    (仮にデスクトップ機の名前を「MYPC1」とする)

    「Alt+x」キーで共有設定画面を終了します。
    ネットーワークに正常に接続できたかは、"Dir D:"として確認できます。

  7. ネットワークログイン

    8. 上記の方法でウインドウが開かなかったりしてログインできなかった場合は次の方法でログインし、CD-ROMを共有します。
    1. まず"net view"で、ホストとなるデスクトップ機を確認します。
    2. 次に"net view \\mypc1"で、共有されているドライブを確認します。
    3. そして"net use d: \\mypc1\d"で、Dドライブにデスクトップ機のCD-ROMを割り当てます。

    以上の操作でLAN上の共有されたCD-ROMを使用できるようになりました。

  8. Windows.95のインストール

    9. ハードディスクをフォーマットし、Windows.95をインストールします。
    A:>format c: [ENTER]
    A:>c: [ENTER]
    C:>d:\setup [ENTER]

    後は画面の指示に従ってWindows.95のインストールを進めてください。
    ちなみに"setup.exe"の実行直後、文字化けした文章を表示して一時停止しますが、Windows.95のインストールを続けるかどうかの確認ですので[ENTER]を押してインストールを続けてください。
